We join our colleagues at the UbuntuNet Alliance and the wider African Research & Education communities in congratulating Professor Madara Ogot for his new role as the Chief Executive Officer of UbuntuNet Alliance starting on February 1st for four years.
Professor Ogot is a Professor in Mechanical Engineering in the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at the University of Nairobi, Kenya where he previously served as the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Research, Innovation and Enterprise.
Professor Ogot is an accomplished academician with vast experience spanning over 30 years in various fields including administration, planning, finance and academics. He is a holder of two doctorate degrees; a PhD in Mechanical Engineering obtained from Pennsylvania State University (United States) in 1991 and in Business Administration (Strategic Management) from the University of Nairobi in 2014. He graduated with a BSE (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from Princeton University (United States) in 1987, an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University (United States) in 1989 and an MBA (Strategic Management) from the Rutgers University Graduate School of Management (United States) in 1997.
