The Arab States Research and Education Network (ASREN) will be hosting its third – LIBSENSE workshop entitled “Next steps”. This virtual workshop comes as a continuation and follow up on the LIBSENSE-III Workshop held in Tunisia in April 2019 and the ASREN – LIBSENSE Virtual Workshop held in October 2020. It will discuss supporting Open Knowledge through an initiative for harvesting data repositories in the Arab region with focus on Arabic content and language. More practices coming from the region on open access and open data repositories will be also presented.
The workshop will be held in cooperation with WACREN, UbuntuNet Alliance, COAR and EIFL under the support of AfricaConnect3 and EUMEDCONNECT3 projects, and it will witness participations to highlight initiatives planned to act as Open Knowledge hubs at regional and global levels.
Repository managers, advocates and other open access and open science stakeholders (Libraries and library consortia, content and research data providers, National Research and Education Networks) are invited to participate to share experiences and exchange knowledge.
