This year, our regional engineers’ Train the Trainer (TTT) workshop is being turned into a regional eduroam roadshow event to offer participants hands-on experience deploying and configuring eduroam on a university campus network.
Participants will learn to use the eduroam Switchboard service and eduID from the RRENs to manage their federations, enabling them to apply this knowledge within their respective campuses and NRENs.
Schedule
This workshop is scheduled to run from 9th to 11 October 2024 at the University of Lagos, Nigeria.
Target Audience
The target audience includes network administrators from the WACREN community and other interested stakeholders.
Objectives
- To understand the principles and benefits of eduroam.
- To gain practical experience in configuring network Access Points (APs) to connect to the eduroam RADIUS for authentication.
- To foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among network administrators within the WACREN community.
Expected Outcomes
- Participants will have a functioning eduroam deployment on the University of Lagos campus,
- enhanced collaboration and knowledge sharing among WACREN network administrators.
- A documented process and best practices guide for future eduroam deployments.
