In the framework of the UNGA75, Innopharma, Ireland, will host a webinar entitled “High-tech skills to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals” which will take place on Monday, 28 September at 10:00 hours central European standard time within the context of the sciencedigital@UNGA75 series of side events to mark the 75th anniversary of the United Nations General Assembly.
Skills and upskilling will be a critical requirement for the attainment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and agenda 2030. A number of the SDGs foresee a post COVID environment where socio-economic progress is advanced through improved competitiveness, responding to socio-economic challenges, climate change and enabling pandemic preparedness, amongst other things.
The objective of the webinar will be to examine how, in a post COVID-19 world, the UN and its international partners including the European union and the African Union commission are preparing for the challenges ahead in order to protect existing and create new jobs. COVID-19 has acted as a catalyst to accelerate change and realise the digital economy. All of this will require new skills across a range of sectors and industries.
